To be honest, I started practicing yoga for all the wrong reasons.
I was looking for “the thing” that would transform my body, my career, and my life.
WHEN A MENTOR OF MINE SUGGESTED THAT YOGA WOULD BE A GREAT WAY TO KEEP MY ACTING "FRESH, HONEST, AND DYNAMIC," I DOVE IN HEAD FIRST. TWO VINYASA CLASSES A DAY. SUN SALUTATIONS BEFORE EVERY AUDITION.
You get the picture.
The amazing thing about yoga is that no matter why you start the practice will transform you.
TODAY, YOGA IS NOT SO MUCH A SET OF POSES, BUT RATHER THE PHILOSOPHY OF PEACE, LOVE, AND ETERNAL CHANGE THAT GUIDES MY LIFE. MY ART HAS BECOME ONE WAY I PRACTICE YOGA. JUST AS MY MEDITATION PRACTICE, THE SIMPLE ACT OF BREATHING, AND MY DAY TO DAY COMINGS AND GOINGS ARE ALL YOGA.
I find yoga asanas – or yoga poses – to be particularly transformational because they change the energy of my physical body. They HELP ME release emotions, memories, patterns, and traumas that no longer serve me.They make way for my body to become an open vessel.
Through yoga i am able to receive AND COMMUNICATE WITH the energy of the universe.
